Apple gives up iOS 4.2 jailbreak

Apple comes to a conclusion to disable its jailbreak detection API in ‘iOS 4.2’.

Finally Apple dropped its plan of identify jail break devices. They decided to remove the jail break detection API from iDevices running with earlier versions of iOS. This was introduced primarily in iOS 4.0 earlier this year. Now users don’t need to fear Apple’s action towards their iPhones if they unlock it.
According to experts API will not work in iOS 4.2.1 as Apple dropped the detection mechanism forever. Apple launched this system in iOS 4.0 to detect "unauthorized user" of iPhone and disable their devices
Meanwhile, experts had pointed that Apple’s action against jail breakers is violation of Copyright rules. The Copyright Office had ruled that jail breaking would be a legal activity in US. Apple had been fighting to overcome this rule to prevent jail breakers unlocking the exclusive iDevices.
According to Apple, jail breaking has the tendency to cause damage to the phone.
According to the device management vendors, Apple's decision is still a mystery to them.
