The announcement of The Tourist's multiple Golden Globe nominations drew audible laughter from the crowd of press and publicists assembled at the Beverly Hilton for Tuesday's pre-dawn announcement.
Angelina Jolie -- who stars in the movie with Johnny Depp -- had the same reaction upon learning of her nomination. Jolie was nominated for best presentation by an actress in a comedy or musical for her role in the film.Saying the acknowledgment was an honor, Jolie told the Associated Press: "We were laughing because it's the first time that I've been in the comedic category so it's new for me."
The movie wasn't a hit with critics or moviegoers, earning only $17 million in its box-office in the past weekend. Depp also was nominated.
