PLAYER OF THE MATCH LONWABO TSOTSOBE
Co-hosts Bangladesh crashed out of the ICC Cricket World Cup after losing a Group B encounter with South Africa by 206 runs in Mirpur on Saturday. South Africa bowlers skittled out the Tigers for a paltry 78 in 28 overs, with Robin Peterson the wrecker-in-chief claiming four wickets.
South Africa have put up a good total on the board. Their batting was good right from the start with both Graeme Smith(45) and Hashim Amla(51) putting up a good partnership of 98 runs. Later on Jacques Kallis(69) and Faf du Plessis(52) too put up an excellent partnership of 82 runs for the fourth wicket. The lower order chipped in to get their team to this total. Bangladesh on the other hand were not good with the ball from the start and were struggling to get the breakthrough. Their bowlers came back well to take wickets in the end.
South Africa continue with their winning ways! The bowling was terrific right from the start and the African team put good pressure on Bangladesh by taking wickets at regular intervals. Lonwabo Tsotsobe bowled very well upfront to take 3/14 in 5 overs. Later on Robin Peterson came in to take 4/12 in his 7 overs. For Bangladesh, only captain Shakib Al Hasan got into double figures, scoring 30! Lonwabo Tsotsobe was declared as Man of the Match for his excellent bowling performance.
