PLAYER OF THE MATCH JAMES TREDWELL
Englnad won ths toss and elected to bat first.West Indies bowled very well in the start and had the half side of the Brits down for just 134 but let the game drift away from there. Jonathan Trott played well in the middle order and made 47 off just 38 balls. It was Luke Wright who came down the order and gave a good stability to score 44 runs and take the game away from West Indies. Later on the bowlers came back well to bowl out the tailenders. England have a decent total on the board to defend on this spinning track.
England stay alive in the World Cup! Chris Gayle started off very well on top of the order by scoring 43 off just 21 balls. He along with Devon Smith(10) put on an quick fire opening partnership of 58 runs in just 41 balls. Once Gayle perished, captain Darren Sammy came in to and kept the momentum going and scored a blistering 41. Andre Russell then came down the order and scored a well made 49. But once he got out, it looked a difficult task for the Windies and hence they collapsed. For England, James Tredwell took 4/48 in his 10 overs and Graeme Swann picked up 3/36 in his 10 overs. James Tredwell was named the Man of the Match for his excellent performance with the ball. England beat West Indies by 18 runs.
