ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 -- SL VS NZ

SRI LANKA 265/9 (50)   NEW ZEALAND  153  (35)
PLAYER OF THE MATCH   KUMAR SANGAKKARA
Sri Lanka batted superbly to put up a challenging total on the board, courtesy a smart century from their skipper and then the bowlers staged a professional performance and never allowed the Kiwi innings to settle. The New Zealand's batsmen looked completely out of sorts against the swing of Kulasekara and spin of the magician Murali. The latter finished with a four-wicket haul and was well supported by his spin partner Mendis who claimed a two-fer. Ross Taylor with 33 was the only batsmen who gutted out in the middle for a while but once he departed there was not enough fire in the batting to present a fight and they were bundled out for a paltry 153.A comprehensive victory for Sri Lanka! A perfect day in the office for the Islanders.
